Live a Vibrant Life
Enthusiasm. An abundance of energy. Spirited, passionate, and vital. These are all words and terms that describe what it means, or is, to be vibrant. That last synonym though, vital, is pretty intriguing to take note of. The other words, however colorful and dynamically accurate they are in describing what vibrant means, it is the word VITAL, which captured my attention when I first came across it.
The word vital means "absolutely necessary", and "essential". How this doesn't hit some one in the face right away is beyond me, but it makes total sense as to why the words vital, vibrant, and life all go hand in hand. Simply put - we NEED to be living vibrant lives, in order to TRULY be living.
Years, maybe even decades, have conditioned most of us to be average, common, mediocre, and in a settled type of mentality. We go through the motions of every day living - sleep, eat, family, work, waste time, sleep, etc. There is not a single thing passionate, spirited, or vital about living a life like that. Monotony is the death of vitality!
I've never met anyone that has died and come back, so as far as I know, this is the only life we have. Right now, is the only real moment we have. I am a preacher of being prepared, thinking ahead, and planning on the "just in cases", but in reality, you only have this very specific moment in time to live how you want, and need, to live.
Don't just wake up, dreading to have to go to work - wake up feeling excited that you are going to make the day what you want it to be! Don't just wave bye to your kids as they run off to school - hug their sarcastic toned awesomeness real tight, reminding them you love them! Don't just say hi to your spouse upon seeing them after work - grab their face and make them remember how passionate you still are about them!
Instead of coming home to plop down on the couch and watching other people on tv be amazing, start working on what your real passion is! Grow your business, grow your network, solve a problem that you have been kind of shoving to the side, call your mom, or even if none of that is appealing at all - simply walk back out your home, and go explore your city, your town, or the country side.
Is there a friend that you haven't spoken to in a while, but don't want to be the one to call first? Who cares, call anyways. Get them to meet up with you. Go have an adventure.
Have you always wanted to skydive? Learn how to play an instrument? Become fluent in a different language? Go join a group, find a community, or find someone that can help you do these things. We have just a ridiculous amount of capability as human beings, that it is downright shameful how much time we waste not living vibrant lives.
Even if none of the things that have been mentioned remotely spark an interest because you are more of a "behind the scenes" person, who prefers to stay in doors and play on social media - you should still live your life vibrantly by adding your voice and unique value!
There are no excuses except the ones we tell ourselves, but when we do that, we are self sabotaging our very own greatness. Don't do that. Love this life. Love YOUR life. Make whatever positive thing you want for yourself happen!
